I love that ‘ponzinomics‘ has become a word that we hear regularly…and more that it’s become almost acceptable in degenerate circles to have that word describe the way tokens, staking, or p2e work in NFT games or projects. We call ourselves degens for a reason. We know that it’s a losing game but we play it anyway. A financial game of chicken where you hope you don’t end up holding the losing bags.

Is 2112.run a gaming project?
Even though the project includes a Game, this is only one part of a broader experience that’s designed to be a transmedia narrative universe that we all build together. Written narratives, videos, and other interactive media are only some of all the possibilities we have to expand the 2112 Universe.
What games do you have in the plans?
We are going to develop two games: first, an on-chain game that will be released in phases, and in the future, a standalone Videogame.
What are these games going to be about?
On-chain game: an RPG board game-style game that will include token earning, items and land as NFTs. The main activity you will perform in this game is making runs, which represent hack incursions against a server node. When making runs, you will have to leverage risk and reward while you progress your character and manage resources. The game will get more and more complex as we develop and release each phase, and will later include faction mechanics in which you and your faction will be able to purchase specific upgrades to benefit all members, and to attack/defend against corporations or even other factions. In more advanced phases, we will have seasonal events that will affect how the main storylines of the narrative universe move forward and, at times, will affect the entire 2112 universe forever. The releases will be frequent and we plan to have playable mechanics pretty soon after the mint, working iteratively from there.
Standalone game: a procedurally generated puzzle/hacking game in which you interact with your opponent’s Grid, and need to advance through enemy ICE until getting the final prize. Kind of a dungeon crawler mechanically speaking. In the future we aim to merge both games, so the things you and your faction obtained during the on-chain game can be used in the full video-game and both games can affect each other. This second game, as it is a complete audiovisual experience, will require a lot more development (an entire team or partnering with an established game development studio), so it’ll happen down the line. Note: As of now, we decided to go hybrid off/on chain in order to be able to implement the Standalone game ideas we had into the Onchain game, making for a much more interesting Game.
What is the Decentralized Narrative System?
In further phases, we want to achieve this narrative collaboration by developing a Decentralized Narrative System that will let you propose stories to make them canon in the 2112 Universe through a validation process by the community itself. Like mining stories, we can achieve a decentralized narrative that is validated by everyone. It doesn’t matter if you never wrote anything before or if you think you don’t know that much about the genre, the idea is that we all go wild and create an interesting universe full of narratives from different people, places, backgrounds, and cultures.

Metahero/Pixel Vault – $POW currency is launched, planet DAOs are being formed, game is probably a couple of years off. They might end up launching a smasher earlier – but really hard to know.
- The AAA game is years off but it seems likely a smaller ‘smasher’ game will launch sometime around summer.
- Currency for game is almost 100% $POW
BYO Game – It’s going to be an amazing game. There’s no doubt in my mind.
TRYP will be a ERC-20 utility/governance token for the BYO Universe. Holders will be able to claim TRYP from staking Apostles & BYOLand pre-world launch. Post-world launch, holders will claim more rewards if they stake the TRYP token itself, interact with the BYOVERSE and reach milestones, win tournaments, and even through user-generated content initiatives. Our ultimate goal with TRYP is to decentralize the ownership and governance of the BYOVERSE gradually over time by rewarding early holders & believers, and those that interact with the world post launch. The total supply of $TRYP will never exceed 270,000,000 and will be unlocked over a predetermined schedule over a period of approximately 72 months from its launch (schedule still in development). Rather then the typical public sale for the token, we opted to reward holders by allowing you to claim $TRYP tokens via staking of your BYOLand and Apostles over a period of 6 months. 13% of the total TRYP supply, or 35,100,000 TRYP, will be allocated to holders during this period of time for FREE (see token allocation chart below) Note: The BYOVERSE will be fueled by 2 tokens, TRYP being the capped supply utility/governance token, with the second token being an uncapped supply in-world currency token with its own faucet/sink mechanics to be released prior to the BYOVERSE launch
TRYP GENERATION VIA APOSTLES, BYOLAND & MULTIPLIERS TRYP will be rewarded to Apostles & BYOLand holders via staking over a period of 6 months after TRYP launch. The period, along with the allocation, might be extended based on BYOVERSE development. • Apostles – A BYOPill is required to stake Apostles. Apostles will generate TRYP based on their tier/type (see chart below). Tying 1 extra BYOPill will give a 1.25x multiplier to TRYP generated, tying 2 extra BYOPills to a staked Apostle will give a 1.45x TRYP multiplier. please note that tying a pill does not mean you’re staking it, but it is required to be held in your wallet at all times to stake/unstake/claim. • BYOLand – You do not need a BYOPill to stake BYOLand. BYOLand will generate TRYP based on the abundancy level (see chart below). However, you can tie a BYOPill to a staked BYOLand to receive a 1.35x multiplier on TRYP generation. Tying a BYOPill to a staked BYOLand also means you will need it to claim/unstake). 13% of TRYP will be allocated 60/40 between Apostles & BYOLand with 60% allocated to Apostles given the BYOPill requirement.

These are projects that I wanted to believe in that simply seem like they are dead. I bought into many of these instead of the winning projects above. Take that as a warning. I sincerely hope that they resurrect – but when I put them here, it means that I’ve stopped believing and looking. I hope to someday have a section at the top called ‘Resurrections’ for when projects in the Graveyard manage to rise up again. As time goes on, I have no doubt this will be the biggest section of this newsletter and I will let it keep growing so that those who care to look can understand that the majority of projects fail and investors lose money.
