NFT Religion from Bald Jesus

Literary NFT Resources compiled by Greg R. Fishbone

GM and Aloha Frens,

It was a wild weekend. I hope you all had a good time. Yesterday was May Day – an important holiday in the Metaverse Religion of Bald Jesusism when we remember the workers of the world and call in sick unless we are getting paid double overtime. It’s easy to celebrate on a beautiful Sunday in Hawaii where May 1st also happens to be Lei Day. My daughter and I went to the park in Waikiki and enjoyed a picnic, free live music, and watching all the tourists. Her favorite – the middle aged dude in a mankini with his kid also in a mankini. Lofl.

The Otherside launch was epic. I know a lot of people probably got rekt on it – buying $APE in the run up then watching it crash after, gas wars where people were paying 2 ETH just to claim a mint, and then the wild secondary market. I took part in none of that. Sold my $APE as it went higher, watched the rest, claimed my rather plain land from owning a mutant, and watched. I’ll hold what I have – and it turns out that it might be just what was needed – The Bald Jesus Temple is born in Otherside. Time will tell how that plays out but I’m not selling unless things go really crazy.

The launch of Vagobond Magazine #1 was a big success. People really liked it and it was fun for me to go back to my roots in publishing. I published an Anarchist/Environmental zine in the 1990s and have had various IRL and digital publishing ventures ever since. This feels like the right move on so many levels. Click on the cover below to go grab one of the 10 copies that will ever exist. Issue #2 is coming on Friday. If all 10 copies have sold before then, I’ll make 15 copies of #2.

Our condolences to Greg R. Fishbone who lost his father over the weekend. We hope that he and his family are holding up under this sad event. Never forget to love the people around you while you can because none of us know the future or what may come.

Vagobond’s Recent NFT Acquisitions

I’m being picky about minting these days unless it’s either free & gasless or an essential part of a collection I already hold. I feel like pfps and generative 10k collections have come as far as they can and now it’s the established winners in this space that will give us something new. Possibly like what BAYC is doing with $APE or BYO is doing with their universe. I don’t know – but I’m watching for it and looking for opportunities to either take profits or increase my stake in projects that I think might bring about the next wave of innovation. At this point, it’s safe to assume that every new project is either a rug or a future failure. There are just too many unknowns and too many scams. Blue chip projects and solid teams are the safest bet – but even something like BAYC has an uncertain future in a space that has only developed over the past year.

News & Alpha

  • * ALPHA * – The Vagobond Discord is one of the best free alpha servers around. You might see it in this briefing, but you’ll definitely see it in the Alpha channel of our discord first.
  • Revolt to Earn – First official CultDao Ecosystem Token coming in June https://wearecultdao.medium.com/emancipate-the-many-from-wage-slavery-rvlt-b43e6431d51e
  • *Airdrop* – DYOR and use a safe wallet! This has not been tested by me but some users have reported getting large airdrops that converted to ETH with no issues: https://docs.benddao.xyz/portal/airdrop
  • *Airdrop* – DYOR! Check airdrop eligibility for Optimism here, gonna be one of the best airdrops this year https://app.optimism.io/governance More info here
  • Huxley Comics are having their #2 Burn Event today for Human Avatar tokens. One of the most complex systems out there, but IMO one of the ecosystems that has the most potential to go completely global in scale. Don’t just ape in – do some research, but my advice is to find a way to be active in Huxley – this has huge potential future.

  • There is also something big coming from 10KTF in a few days. No one seems to know what it is, but it’s been building towards a crescendo for a while now. Watch for it.

  • Danger Islands/Lazer Labs game is being played. First monster battle happening now. This project really deserves so much more attention than it gets.

I’m going to be tokenizing and distributing my startup corporation to holders of Bald Jesus and Vagobond NFTs. Iwahai, Inc. is a Delaware C Corporation and the owner of VoiceMarkr which can be found in the the Apple and Android app stores. VoiceMarkr is a voice centered social media and communications platform which will be owned and developed further by the community – so if you want to be a part of it – you should join the Vagobond Discord ASAP.

Here are the app store versions that exist now:
The progressive web app lets you listen to markers but doesn’t give you the ability to make them like the phone apps do. https://www.voicemarkr.com/
  • I published several days of the Vagobond Morning Briefing as NFTs through ReadMe Books. Three copies of each as a way to explore the creation of Vagobond Magazine. I will no longer be publishing the VMB as NFTs – but each Friday will be publishing Vagobond Magazine. Here are the links to those genesis pieces.

The Week in PageDao (#2) by T. Dylan Daniel

dylan.app.bio

This week was a massive one. We made major strides toward our Membership NFT Project with James Cowan delivering art and Robbie and myself working together to build out a smart contract. There are several pieces that still need to be put together, but we have updated the snapshot to include holders of The Mask of Ganymede and the updated total is now 441 Wippy class memberships that will go out to early PageDAO supporters.

We will be aiming to release the project this week, so be ready to mint your 2022 Membership NFT!!

We’ve also nearly finished our five-week saga with Bitlectro Labs on Pass the Pen! PageDAO Resident Artist Erick Stow has shaped the story as scribe, providing depth and character to Ultra Pizza Thrash Or Die, a richly entertaining action adventure in which four friends are ensorceled by a strange video game in the early 1980’s. We’ll be finishing this story this Friday, and be sure you tune in to check out who we may have as a special guest.

More and more people are joining the PageDAO Discord server as well, with over 1100 Discord members and over 1400 total Twitter followers now. I have an interview coming up next week that people may end up hearing about, and I could hardly be more excited to put the final few puzzle pieces together to show the world what PageDAO really has in mind for publishing.

Publishers, led by Greg Fishbone, will be offered the ability to purchase two NFTs at 2.5ETH apiece to signal their readiness for a specific application built on PageDAO technology. As authors flock to PageDAO, early PageDAO Publishers will be able to stand out from the crowd by offering bespoke services including curation and beyond. The proceeds from Diamond Wippy NFTs will support PageDAO’s hands-on development of publisher-specific applications.

The First NFT/Metaverse Religion- Bald Jesusism

Upcoming Holidays

The holidays of Bald Jesusism are meant to be fun and healthy for you and your fam. Enjoy them!

May Day – May 1st is a day to celebrate workers of the world and all they do. It’s a day to fight exploitation and wage slavery. If you have a job, take this day off. In Bald Jesusism, if you have a job, May 1st is the day you call in sick for religious reasons.

Bitcoin Pizza Day – May 22nd is the day the first official transaction with Bitcoin took place. Two large pizzas for 10,000 BTC. We celebrate these very expensive pies by eating pizza and buying pizza for others. This is a great day to buy an extra pizza and give it to someone who doesn’t have one.

Bald Jesus is Your Bro! Don’t Be a Dick

I feel pretty blessed to have gotten a piece of Otherside land. I don’t plan on selling it and as long as I own it – I plan on it being the Otherside Temple of Bald Jesus. Now look, if this becomes life changing money and I can improve my family’s situation or something like that – I’m selling it – but until that day (and if that day) this will be the Metaverse HQ for the Bald Jesus fam. Also, since it’s a pretty clear Mutant piece and the Blootiness of it can’t be denied – it’s definitely a home for all BJs, Blooters, and Mutants. Bald Jesus is your bro. Don’t be a dick! And hey – check out the phallic symbols on this mf! – CD
