There was another excellent IRL event last week. Our regular Friday night, no agenda get together brought some great conversations, new friendships, and interesting ideas. Folks also gathered together for various events and at different places in small scale friend groups that were born through the Twitter group, the Facebook page, or the Discord. It’s nice to think that these IRL meetups are leading to IRL friendships – and it’s true.
Online there was the bi-weekly Bitcoin meetup yesterday, at least one Twitter space, and more. I’ll try to get better at listing these here as time goes on. There is a Twitter space on Wednesdays at 6pm HST.
Our friend Watase.eth, founder of the Aloha Frens project held three online workshops over three nights in the Aloha Frens discord. These were token gated for holders of Aloha Frens, but the intentionally low price of those shouldn’t hold you back, well worth the value. The workshops essentially taught everything you need to know about building a generative pfp project from art to generation to smart contract to web design and integration. Aloha Frens may have been the most valuable NFT I’ve bought just for that information. Thanks Watase.eth!
Also this week, Jasper Wong (Fomo Mofos) was announced as the lead artist for the exciting new Web3/IRL project AP3 Island – read more about that in this week’s Vagobond Magazine.

Today:
5/20/2022 6pm- 7pm, Blockchain Informal – Whole Foods Kaka’ako – informal meetup and chill event for all blockchain interested or involved people. There is no agenda here – just a chance to meet up in real life, make some frens, and enjoy a bit of breath together.

Not much in the way of Hawaii news this week, but given that most of the news to come out of crypto was pretty grim, we can count that as a win. No news is good news in this case, so get out there and enjoy those graduations and get ready for the tourists to descend upon us in record numbers very soon.
